Terms and conditions
Last updated 9 January 2026. These terms apply to every place booked with Vermilla Makeup Institute Ltd.
1. The provider
Courses are provided by Vermilla Makeup Institute Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as VERMILLA.
2. Booking a place
A place is held when the deposit clears, not when a form is submitted. Places are allocated in the order deposits are received and each cohort closes at twelve students.
3. Fees and instalments
Fees are as published on the admissions page at the time of booking. Instalment plans are interest free and administered by us. Where an instalment is fourteen days late we will contact you before taking any other step; a place is only withdrawn after a further fourteen days.
4. Cancellation and refunds
Deposits are refundable within fourteen days of payment. After teaching begins: a full refund of fees paid less the deposit in the first week, half in the second week, and none from the third week onward. Masterclass fees are refundable up to fourteen days before the class date.
5. Deferral
A place may be deferred once to any intake within twelve months, free of charge, with at least seven days' notice before term starts. A second deferral is treated as a cancellation.
6. Attendance
The diploma certificate requires attendance at 80 per cent of practical sessions. Missed sessions cannot generally be repeated, because a cohort runs once; where absence is unavoidable we will try to place you in the equivalent session of the following intake.
7. What the certificate is
Our certificates are school certificates recording what was taught and assessed. Makeup artistry is not a licensed trade in the United Kingdom and no certificate from any school confers a licence or a right to practise. Nothing we issue should be described as a qualification awarded by a regulator.
8. Kit and equipment
Kit supplied with the diploma becomes the student's property on the first day. Studio equipment remains ours; breakages beyond fair wear are chargeable at replacement cost.
9. Models
Where you bring a model, you are responsible for them being over 18 and for their signed release. The school reserves the right to decline a model where a release is missing.
10. Changes we may make
We may change tutors, timetable order or studio allocation. Where we cancel a cohort outright, all fees paid are refunded in full, including the deposit.
11. Conduct
Hygiene standards are not optional; repeated breaches after warning are grounds for removal without refund. So is conduct that makes a model or another student unsafe.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
